By joining a writers’ group you definitely advance your writing craft through regular attendance and participation in a range of exercises and activities. Not to mention the isolated life of a writer – groups are great for igniting ideas.
Being in a productive writing group like Port Writers, you receive feedback, network with other writers, learn from others, extend your imagination through exposure to others writing and genres, gain support as a writer and much more. Essentially, a writers group can help you make things happen with your writing.

Join us on a journey of creativity and camaraderie. Our writers’ group is more than just a gathering – we are a vibrant and supportive community. We hold workshops to help us improve our writing skills, we get to know each other and celebrate each other’s talents and passions. Our group includes fiction and non-fiction writers and poets – we learn from this cross-genre experience. We hold competitions which help members to explore and expand their writing skills. As a like-minded group we offer support and mentorship to fellow members. And we do have a lot of fun with our often-humorous writing challenges and with the celebration of milestones and anniversaries. Engaging with a group of people who share the love of writing is a positive experience for any writer.
